Synopsis: Jaded teenager Pursy Will (Scarlett Johansson) receives the news that her mother has died. Returning to her childhood home in New Orleans, she is shocked to see what should be her mothers abandoned house occupied by former literature professor Bobby Long (John Travolta) and his protege Lawson Pines (Gabriel Macht). The two men are flat broke, the only thing keeping them going is the hope that Lawson writing Bobby's life story. Although their relationship is tumultuous at the start, the three soon learn to live with each other.
